LETTER FROM THE RECRUITMENT CHAIR
Welcome! The sisters of the Gamma Nu Chapter are so happy that you are interested in what it means to be a Phi Sigma Sigma here at Rutgers University! Like most, my freshman year experience was not what I thought it would be. Being home because of the pandemic, I thought I would never make friends or find my place on campus. It wasn’t until I joined Phi Sigma Sigma that I felt seen, heard and most importantly valued. Experiencing the love and comfort that I did during recruitment from the sisters of Phi Sigma Sigma, I knew I found my home and friends that will be here past my four years here. But I couldn’t just let my story end there. Being involved was extremely important to me, but even more importantly, I wanted to be one of the many reasons why women felt the love and comfort that I did when going through recruitment. The support from my sisters encouraged me to take on the role of MRC and show everyone how great it is to be a Phi Sigma Sigma.

I went Phi Sig because with Rutgers being such a big school, I had a really hard time finding my place freshman year. After meeting and having conversations with some of the girls in phi sig I felt genuine connections being made with each and everyone of them, and they really made me feel at home. I have met some of the coolest and most amazing people through Phi Sig, and I am so thankful for everyone this organization has brought into my life and the opportunities it has given me .
As for a lot of girls, my first semester at Rutgers was an extremely trying time, emotionally and mentally. I never thought I would join Greek life but I decided to give it a chance my second semester. I walked through the doors of Phi Sigma Sigma and everything changed. Everyone was so welcoming, the girls only met you with smiles, and the love these girls felt for each other seemed to radiate off the walls. To this day, joining Phi Sig was the best decision I could have ever made. I have never met a group of such inviting, intelligent and incredible girls. Everyone here was always lifting each other up. Although I was intimidated by everyone because of their beauty, every single girl made me feel special and appreciated. The love I have felt through the friendships at Phi Sig is something I will never forget.
For me, Phi Sig was the place that felt just right. I knew it as soon as I stepped into the house during recruitment, and the girls radiated so much warmth, kindness and sincerity. They were extremely passionate about their philanthropy, their message and their friendship. I wanted to be a part of something bigger, and have that same positive effect on the community and people around me, and that is exactly what this organization helped me to accomplish - I am beyond grateful!
I went Phi Sig because it was so easy to feel connected with everyone even if I had just met them! I got the feeling that I could always be welcomed and accepted by everyone here, and was able to see myself in every one of the sisters.
